Funny :-) in central London is not expensive .....
Take the tube and stay in Earls Court, about 50 pounds per day.
I found a Backpackers Lodge in Piccadilly Circus is just 12 € per night including breakfast, linen and free luggage storage. Also has its own pub with food at reasonable prices, and cheap drinks. Check out their website. They are called Piccadilly Backpackers Hostel ....
